Hi...folks...
You won't believe this. I had oil change from WalMart this Mon. And guess what? They almost drained out my transmission fluid instead of engine oil. I refill about 4 qt. of transmissin fluid today and found out the engine oil was over filled about 2 qt. The worst thing is.......my car doesn't go reverse any more. I suppose my transmission is broken. By the way, my car is 96' Impreza Outback, automatic tranmission. The Reverse gear has became Neutral, and the Neutral has became another Drive gear. Gee......how could this happened to me!!!??? What should I do now? folks....How much I will need to spend for my transmission?

Can you prove Walmart did this though?
If you can definitely prove it is their error that caused the damage, you may have grounds to claim against them.

Whoa... I would start by going to Wal Mart and speaking with someone in charge, see if you can get them to pay for repairs. They're a big company, I would think they'd pay for it to avoid you making a stink. If they don't just agree to paying, threaten to see an attourney. If they still won't pay, go see an attourney.

I had a receipt from the store which toped off the transmission fluid. I don't know if this is helpful.

That only proves you had to top it up, it doesn't prove it was Walmart's fault.
You need to go to Walmart and argue your case there, if you have proof that they made the mistake, even better.

So what kind of proof you would suggest me to look for before I go to Walmart?
thx

You'll need some sort of proof they drained fluid out the transmission instead of the Oil pan, right now, even the word of one of their people on the day may be enough to go by.
If you can physically prove that the transmission drain plug was removed, even better, the problem there though is they will argue about whether it was tampered with there or not (if you have that admission though it makes it easier).

Obviously something in writing would be ideal, but I doubt you have that?

They should have logs that showed you went to Walmart for the oil change or gave you a receipt for the oil change, to show you actually went there.
