94 cherokee sw

i just bought a 94 jeep cherokee and it is leakin oil from wher i have no clue and i have no power if i kick it down to a passin gear. can anyone help almost fed up. has 127000 miles and thge only side i see oil on is thye passenger side inside tire and along the sway bar and steering link. please help

Is it engine oil or power steering fluid? If you overfill the power steering, or the seals are old, you get leaking power steering fluid from the end of the system at the tires...I had the same problem for awhile, nice stripes on my inside tires :-)

If it's oil check the valve cover. mine is leaking and oil is traveling down the side of the engine onto strange places and dripping on the ground...looked for awhile and then noticed the side of the engine from the cover had oil on it...this is my next replacement project, valve cover gasket, Should be an easy fix, just have to have the time to do it! :)

it is also very common to leak from the o-ring at the oil filter adapter to the block.

in my 94 jeep cherokee i have a slight knock on startup after it starts it is fine just every once in awhgile while im sittin an idleing i will hear it knock. could this be the rear crank bearing cause i dont think that it is a rod doesnt sound like one.

the 4.0's are notorius for knocking. mine does it all the time...sounds like a diesel engine sometimes...

there always could be but the noise you hear may very well be the normal 4.0 knoc, rattle, and roll we all love :-)
