the Civic Del Sol is the CRX's replacement. Much as the RSX is actually an integra, the Del Sol is really a CRX.

Exactly, it IS a Civic CRX not a del sol, del sol is more of a colloquial term to be honest. Americans = weird. lol. ;)

In Europe the 92-97' model is also CRX

And it has all over written CRX also

We never got 3rd gen Del Sols here, just a 3rd gen CRX, just like it was marketed in Japan.

Del Sol is a US marketing name - like Acura... although I'd rather drive a Honda NSX than an Acura NSX :)

Didn't they keep the CRX body in Europe for an extra year or something? I lived in France for a while, and knew a guy who had a B16 CRX and swore that it was a 93. Is that possible? Also, while I was there, I had a chance to ride in a Honda NSX, and it was a million times faster than the US NSX. :screwy:

He swore up and down that it was a 93, but I didn't know enough about cars then to verify it. It could well have been a 92. Is it true then that they held over the 4G body style outside the US?

some of the 4g CRX's were just rebadged as 92's to get rid of the extra stock they had, but production stopped in 91.

i thought i heard one time that the 2g crx was sold up to mid 93 in europe right up until the 3g came out. you could buy a stock v-tec there

EE8/9s finished production the same time that the EF8/9s did - late '91. Leftovers were sold in '92 but their build date was still '91.

The Del SOl is known as the CRX Del Sol Over here(Ireland) And was Available as early as 92. I've seen 92 2nd gen CRX's here but never seen a 93. Maybe the car wasn't sold from the Honda dealer until 93, therefore wasn't registered until then in which case it could be a 93. i've seen a couple of 93 4th gen civics over here.
