Im planning on doing a complete upgrade on my 2g turbo, Im going to get a new O2 housing, what does everybody else like/recommend. I have a 3in exhaust, but should I get a 2.5 externally dump O2 housing or should I just stick with a 3in O2 housing. The only main concern I have with an externally dump O2 is how loud it is. But im just curious to see what everyone else likes......thanx....

You have 3.5 options.
1. Ported stock housing
2. Aftermarket housing
3. o2 elim downpipe with internal or external dump
If you have emissions where you live, don't get external dump if you don't want to replace stock exhaust parts to pass. Most o2 elim downpipes will outflow any o2 housing. Good luck

It depends on the turbo though. Up to a 16g the turbine outlet isnt even 2.5 inches, so having to go another 6 inches to the DP at just under 2.5 inches doesnt hurt much. Stock housings with minor porting run 11s. I use a TRE ported 2g piece. A nice alternative is the EVO housing if you have slotted DP, or a VP or 122performance tubular one with internal dump. I will strongly advise against the external dump for internal WGs, its sounds like a rusty 88 cavalier with no muffler, only louder. ;)

Along the same lines, what do you think about RnR SS o2 elim. dp, external or rerouted. I was hearing some things about their customer service, so what other companies make an o2 elim DP (preferably long version to get rid of the cat) ?

Extreme does or used to, though I wouldnt trust them any more than RNR. HRC makes them but they use a 3 bolt flange, forcing you to buy the whoel set from them. I still think you'd be better off with a 122 or VP housing, with a typical DSM vendor DP, like RRE or BR, etc. For what its worth, RRE is the best hands down for shipping DPs on time, and BR is good too. Worth the couple extra bucks over the discount shops, IMO. I wish RRE sold thier own catback instead of the N1, but they wouldnt sell it if they didnt like it. RRE is a shop you can really trust. I use thier DP by the way. Outstanding piece. My old (4 years old) bushur 2.5 was excellent too, and is damn near in the 11s on Joe Gs car on POSR. This is in the salt of new englands roads, and its not stainless. I have seen lesser brands rot out quicker. GOing off on a tangent again though...

I was just thinking that if i put the housing, downpipe and cat into one piece, it would be easier to replace come emissions time. i have plenty of time to think about it though, thanks and welcome back btw :)

thanks :) Its not much easier to replace. You could just drop the whole thing as one piece in either case, but you cant easily remove the O2 housing with the DP on anyway.
