Ex girlfriend - What the Hell

Back in 2001 I went out with this girl, we'll call her S. We went out for 13 months, at the end of which she told me "let's take a break, I don't think I love you that much anymore, so let's take some time apart and work things out, and get back together later on. 1.5 weeks later she was going out with another guy, a real arrogant fuckhead we'll call D.

It was a real bad breakup, she fucked me around for months in 2002, til I finally decided fuckit, I don't want anything more to do with her. I saw her occasionally, we didn't really talk.

She called me tonight.

"Hello?"
"Guess who?"
"Uh...(think about the voice)..Yvonne?"
"Nope, guess again."
"Say more, I can't tell"

I asked her why she was calling me. Apparently she'd worked some shit out and had decided that we should catch up again. I told her I figured she didn't want anything to do with me so I was leaving it at that. (Headache made me not want an argument, she can be quite pissy - I did want to tell her I didn't want anything to do with her)

We bullshitted a bit, jobs, past year etc.

me: "Are you still with D?"
"Yes"
"My condolences" (:evillol:)
"...thanks..."

I think she was a bit taken aback by that, offended even. I hope.

I didn't hold back that I hate her boyfriend. He's the most arrogant person I have ever met. He always talks down to me like he's so much better than me. Definately one of the worst people I have ever met in my life. I told her all that.

So she invites me to a party at her place. I told her no promises, I have 3 other places to be on Saturday night (I do too.) So if I show, I show. Also told her to keep her boyfriend away from me or I'll "fucking smack him in the head if he fucks me off". She said she'd try, and apologised on behalf of him that he's a dick to me, claims she didn't know. Pffft.

So I'm pretty surprised she called me, and that we didn't fight. I didn't get to optimistic when talking to her, kept my tone of voice completely neutral. I also told her if she wants to talk to me she must call me, I told her I'm too busy these days to call anyone (:bs: :evillol:) and that she shouldn't take it personally.

Now, my dilemma is.

Do I flip the past the bird and try and start afresh and maybe rebuild a friendship?

Or

Do I flip her the bird and try to start afresh and rebuild the cannon I designed to destroy her house?

I'm considering going to her party, getting obnoxiously drunk with my friends there, then going to another good friends place, getting drunker, then finally ending up in town and getting right fucked up.

Just needed to get this out of my head, still kinda shocked.

If you can temporarily get back in her pants, go for it. Otherwise - ex's are always a bad idea.

Its odd that she called you out of the blue. Especially since she's still dating the arrogant bastard(i hate those kinda people too). Personally, I wouldn't look to far into it, but maybe just pop in at the party(provided you'll know other people,IMO). I wouldnt do it man. It seems like she fucked you up pretty bad with the breakup... why let her get away with it scott free? Breakups have their consequences, and for her with the way she treated you, the consequence should be that you don't get to be her friend anymore.

At least that's what I would do (and am currently doing) with an ex like that.

I agree with everyone saying to avoid her. I made the mistake very recently of letting my ex-wife get to close to me and she did exactly what everyone said she would. Use me because she missed me and then drop me like a bad habit again. Now I'm right back where I started when all of this began. Depressed as hell and pissed at the world. I probably won't go. I've been offered a really good night for Saturday night, and if I wanted to go to S's party, I'd have to catch a taxi to her place (maybe 20 bucks) and then a taxi back to my friend's place (another 20) before we go into town. That's 40 bucks I can spend elsewhere. Morbidly curious as I am, I know where my priorities lie. Night in town clubbing with good mate > weird ex girlfriend.

So my best mate is just going to talk to her at the party and see if he can find out what she's thinking.
