Problem with my 91SE

Hey im new to this board and seems like you guys know alot so i have a question.....has anybody had a problem with their grand prix when you brake at a stop sign or light or whatever ur lights in your dashboard get dim then go back to normal and ur gauges move up and down a lil bit and feels like ur car could die?....is so what have you done about it?....and thanks for any info you guys could give me

your alternator is probably going to shit or one of your batt cells could be low on fluid? did you ever have a massive stereo in your car? thats how i ruined a couple of alternators

hey...i just got a new alternator and a new battery put on the car...i have a system but nothing big...thanks for the help ill look into the stereo

Well, in my 93 Z-34 that problem was more noticeable. What we did was install a bigger diodes and rectifier(115amps instead of the stock 105amps). The car has OEM everything cockpitwise. I installed a 965CCA battery and with that alternator mod I told you the problem went away. If you keep installing stock alternators the problem will stay since the car needs more amps than the stock alternator can provide once too often...
