nah my man. :nono: Dealer is the only place you can get it from. Every radio has its own code. I lucked out because the previous owner of my car wrote the code down in my Owners' manual. So thats the only reason I got it. The dealer charges so much becuz they know that there is no other way for you to get it.

The cost is high because you need to remove the radio and take down the numbers on the back. Once you have those you can get the code, and may be able to save a few bucks by taking those to a dealer. If you walk in to the dealer with the numbers in hand, it really costs them nothing as the just sign on to HondNet and punch in the numbers and it returns the code for that radio. Takes all of 5 minutes by the parts counter person. You can try posting the numbers on a few Honda BBS and see if any members are techs that can look it up for you for free.

Thats a good Idea. I forgot you gotta pull the radio for the numbers.

Pull the radio & drive the car over to Honda, now the code is free. They charge 1.0hr of labor for R&R.

trying to pull radio out but can't locate 2 8mm bolts. there is an 8mm bolt and a phillips screw in back of radio. i got ashtray bracket out but having difficulty getting rest. how do you separate the 2 pc console around brake and shifter? would make life easier. also there are two screws indash above radio, in front. do these have to be removed also.

You either need to remove the ashtry and look in there, or look in the bottom of the little storage area at the rear of the console for a removeable trap door. Also, look on the sides of the rear piece for screws and remove any you find. The rear section should slide up and back. This will reveal additional screws for the front section and it also looks like there are screws on the side of that part to be removed as well. Once your console is removed, reash in and undo those two underside bolts and your home free.
