if you have no idea then why are you giving out info?

Its the same. Only thing you might want to look at is the smoothness of the surface. Most CF hoods arent smooth like oem hoods. They clear coating on cf hoods are usually not thick enough so you can see the weaves of the CF strands. The imperfection of the CF hoods finishes are very forgivable as they are because the finish is clear and not noticeable... but one you paint it, the imperfections will show. I've gone through many CF hoods and have one that is partially painted, so ask any other questions you might have.

okay - another cf hood question- my hood has 2 vents which i didn't think were a problem, but when i went through one of those mechanical carwashes the other day (which sucked by the way) my car stalled going through. i went through again and it stalled again. my only thought is that water is messing with something while it's being poured in there. anyone have an idea what is getting wet enough to stall, and if there's anything short of covering them that i can do to keep water away from whatever is stalling.

You're Sig says you have a intake, but not what kind. It could very well be that water is some how flooding into the vents and soaking your intake filter, causing so much air flow restriction that your car chokes and shuts off.
I would not recomend using drive through car washes. They are for normal cars and normal drivers that dont really care so much about their cars. I have only seen ONE drive through car wash here in So Cali that was good... and it was because the track pulls the car while your car is off. The Track is VERY low so lowered cars will work just fine. And the stupid spinning monsters that destroy paint have been replaced by two guys, one on each side of the car, that soap it down as it goes through. Its a rinse, spray waxed and air dry... then lastly taken out to the parking lot where theres about 3 guys per car dry your car down in detail as they buff out the wax for you. Now THATS how a drive through car was SHOULD be!!!!!

i usually wash it by myself but don't think i'm gonna do that now in MA. i didn't even think it could be choking the engine, how bad is it that that happened? i was hoping water wasn't getting in my engine (happened before - had to spray water out of my spark plug holes)

If he properely installed his plugs, wires and so on... those should all be sealed and "water tight". I dont know... but if water got inside the distributor, or spark plugs... wouldnt the problem/damage be alot more?

no it would just get the spark from getting down the plug ..it would basicly just ground it you can try it with your car it wont hurt it .... if water falls in the distribuitor (spelling) it wont start but it gets down one of those spark plug holes you will have a dead cylinder
