it wont start whats wrong??

my 240sx will not start. I think it might have a dead battary because the gauge and radio display are not light up really good but the lights seem to work and look just fine. I'm pretty sure the battary is dead and thats why but when i poped the hood i heard a electrical humming sound by the ignitor so now i do not know. IS it the battary or does it need a new fuse what do you guys think before i got out and buy a new battary.






it has not been started up in about 5 days and it is cold out here so maybe that has something to do with it i dunno . . . . . . i'm a newbie

When you crank it what happens? It will turn over but no firing? Won't turn over at all? Do you hear your starter trying?

do you drive stick? i you do, have some friends push your car, and while its rolling, turn it on.

^^^ i tried pop starting one of my friends accords...it was the funniest thing ever..he ended up going down a hill..and it didn't start..then we had to push it up the hill :(

hahahaha thats funny. when i crank it it wont fire at all. The battary light is on so it probly needs a jump hav'nt tried it yet sence its so cold i though i would get your guys say before i try do do something to it

i say try to jump it and go from there..if it sounds like it' just not turning over..then it might not be your battery :-x

you can always take it to a place like procare, let them find what's wrong then take off :)

yea that is what i did with sears when I had a steering problem with my old car, I got a free estimate and what needed to be repaired then I just took off and got the parts myself and install it. It would of cost me 800 bucks, but I got a rack for like 60 and put it in myself lol
