Water Tempature Gauge Problems

I just Installed a Tripple Gauge Piller Pod with (volt meter,water tempature, and oil tempature)

I know for the Oil Temp i have to get a Temp sending unit and have to tap into my oil pan


but my question is where would i find the wire that comes off the Water Temp Sensor?

I know there is a wire (Black with Yellow Stripe) that comes into the back of the gauge cluster. but this wire comes from the ecu.

Which wire is the Temp Sensor to the input of the ecu. I tired hooking up to the (Black with Yellow stripe) on the back on the gauge cluster but it was back words when i have the car on it read 40degrees (which is the lowest setting) and when the car was off it went to 130degrees which is the highest setting.
