Im not very auto-savvy. But I think my problem lies somewhere within the fuel pump, fuel filter or fuel line.
The problem im having is the car stalls after pulling out. Then it wont start. It wants to turn over and tries, but will not turn over.
Prior to this problem, the car would act like it wasnt getting gas on turns and on the highways. It had a kind of "glug" in the accelleration.
I just got it out of the shop and the repair shop said that it needed a new serpentine belt and a new timing belt. They changed all that and we put a new battery in it.
About a month and a half later, the symptoms of the "glug" in accleration started to appear on the highway. One leaving from work, the car starts fine. I pull out of my parkins space and then it just dies as if it ran out of gas. This is what happened when I orignally put it in the shop for the belts to be changed.
I dont know if this has anythign to do with it, but both times the car stopped like this, it was cold and rainy and I was pulling out of my spot in reverse. Upon acceleration it would stop suddenly as if there was no more gas.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be?
I read up on fuel filters and I think that from what I have read this may be the problem, though looking at this forum I see alot about computers possibly needing reset.
What can I do to get it running?

replaceing the fuel filter wouldnt hurt. my old automatic would stall like that when I took turns if the fuel was low, but my manual now, doesnt. um, if its been cold and your car has been sitting a while and without a lot of gas, it will get condensation in the tank and fuel lines and you'll be sucking some water, not fuel, and that could be it, throw in some heet and it'll be good. but it could also be the fuel pump. there are many things it could be, most of them you already said yourself, you'll haev to just pick one and start from there.

sounds to me that your pick up tube in the fuel tank is kinked, I've heard of this happening to these escorts.
