rhd eclipse

Steering control. And no they don't. Not in the US anyways, maybe overseas there's one.

they have rhd dsm's in japan. the dsm's japan also have 230hp instead of the US's 210hp.

the dsm cars are made here but exported to japan so there is no 'real' jdm dsm.

so any one got some proof that these JDM Eclipse's are there because i cant say ive ever seen/herd of one!

Japenese people are too busy racing their new 2003 Supras to spend time with a rhd Eclipse ;).

I've never heard of anyone talking about rhd on an eclipse, so I remain skeptical.

just get a damn skyline...

I think the jdm version of the eclipse is the FTO.... not sure. I'm probably wrong. just a thought

Ok this is the thing.... all the eclipse that are made in japan all have jdm engines and the cars that are made in americara has dsm engines... FTO and eclipse are two different cars... FTO is a 6 cylinder and are only made in japan.. few of these cars are imported to UK and australia... but here in US i heard these cars cannot be made legal i dunno why ? :( and for the eclipse is a 4 cylinder made made in usa as well as japan... usa = dsm japan = jdm... but there are sites which sell used jdm engines here in usa... and if u want to convert dsm eclipse to rhg u have to do it urself or let someone who has done it before do it... but i heard that this thing to be done is near to impossible :D
i heard that the fto have awesome handling and steering control and suspension but lacks power for non turbo ( only 200hp from a 6 cylinder) but i dunno whether thy come in AWD and also if they come with twin turbo or just single turbo.. i am still searching it :D this is all i know.. if anything is wrong correct me :D

almost all the info in this thread is wrong ..

i used to work at factory in ILL as it is my hometown as well and i have friends and family who still work in plant ..

not one RHD eclipse has ever been produced at least not for sale, they made overseas models w/ amber side marker lights and amber rear turn signals as well as diff mirrors ..the euro and jap versions look identical .
to my knowledge japan is only RHD country to get eclipse rest went to europe where most cars are LHD..

the motors at least the turbo one were all made in japan and shipped over .the jap cars had the same motor as US ..

FTO is based on mirage platform nothing even realted to eclipse chassis

i am not into eclipse's at all but i saw this thread and had to set it straight ..

ironic part is the new 05 or 06 eclipse is already sitting in factory and it was made in japan and shipped over for enigineers to study and test ..sorry no pictures besides it is mainly a shell..

check this picture.. look at the engine bay... it does not look like a mirage platform.. also it looks like a 3000gt... and it is 6 cylinder and not a 4 cylinder like the mirage or eclipse :D
