Anybody know where I can get an exhaust for my car. 91 Civic DX Sedan. All I've found is a Bosal Exhaust which I can order at my job for like $270 with my discount. But, from what I've heard theyre no better than stock... But, what I think I'm going to do is buy an Apexi N1 muffler and get a shop to make a rear section for me to weld the muffler onto.

I dont mean to sound stupid or anything, but why do you yanks always have to have big brand name parts on your cars? I mean im sure there are far cheaper mufflers out there than the apexi brand which do just as good a job and are far cheaper. Why dont you just get a system made up at an exhaust shop, im sure there are many places that can make you a free flowing exhaust out of their own parts.

well the reaon is that i know people with generic brand mufflers on their cars and they sound like crap, they also dont help at all with performance. Ive heard an Apexi muffler/exhaust and they sound nice and do add horsepower. I'd just rather go with a familiar brand that some cheap piece of junk like we sell at Auto Zone (where I work).

Just adding a muffler to your car normally wont really give u power gains...however if you get a full upgraded custom cat-back exhaust that will give u power gains, believe me. I got 2.5" for my SOHC ZC but since u only have a 1.5L 2" or 2.25" would be plenty for you im sure...cuz 2.5" is pushing in on my car.

No matter what exhaust you get you aren't really going to feel any difference in performance if that is the only mod you have. Put an intake and header on as well and all three will give you a little more power but still not much from the little 1.5 engine. Basically an exhaust is just for appearance and sound if that's all you have done. Currently I have a Bosal stainless 2.5" catback on my car and it sounds pretty good. I couldn't tell any increase in horsepower cause my butt dyno isn't that sensitive

Thermal R&D makes a stainless 2.25" exhaust for the sedan.

I went the route of a generic turbo muffler ($39.95) from my local shop and had them make 2.25" pipe from the cat back. It sounds pretty good, but doesn't provide much "power" for the 1.5 with no header. The ZC should like it tho once I get around to putting that bitch in

Well I was planning on trying to get a DOHC ZC and rebuilding it and dropping into my car eventually. But I'll check out the Thermal R&D exhaust. Thanks for your help guys.

lol that is because the hatchbacks are shorter...the design is the same thing basically.

yea i know, but i'll leave it on till i find someone to buy it and i'll use the money towards a thermal cat-back for the sedan! i used to have a 89 si with a thermal catback, they sound real nice!!

what do you guys think of this rear section http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33630&item=2458026638

So hatch exhausts will fit on a sedan? I may just get a hatch exhaust then. I dont care if it doesnt stick out of the bumper, thats what a tip is for lol.
