What is the difference between rating horsepower at the flywheel or the rear wheels. Which is better?

Well neither one is really better...Horsepower at the flywheel is how much power the engine is basically making...horsepower at the rear wheels is how much your putting down and shows how much percent you lose through your drivetrain.

Well flywheel hp is always higher. Becuase u lose power getting that power to the wheels. I'm pretty sure all current hp ratings on cars are flywheel ones. Just to make them sound better. I think pretty much everyone who tests their cars hp just has it dynoed which is wheel horse power.
The only difference in the 2 is where its measured.
