ES300 LCD Radio Display Turning Dark

Hi,

It started about a year ago. I can't read the display because most of the characters are dark.

It is humidity related. When I go to Vegas, the display looks normal.

Can I replace the display or do I have to replace the entire unit?

Can I get it replaced with a salvaged radio?

Any suggestions?

Without seeing the display I can't tell the exact problem, but it is most likely just the bulbs that light up the display.

I learned that the display was delaminating. I replaced it for $125.

I described it on the Lexus Owners Club forum. One of the replies gave the part number to order from Pioneer for only $95.66. Another reply gave instructions for removing the head unit.
