i would like to swap my 2.0L 97 talon esi motor with a 3.0L
mitsi 3000gt tt motor
im have a 3000gt tt from a junkyard and want to
switch motors and trannys.
since they are made by the same company
it shouldnt be to hard to get a motor mount
conversion kit for it
but i just would like to know everyones opinion on it.
i know it is gonna cost alot and am willing to pay it.
also im wonderng if and how to use the manual 6-speed
tranny of the 3000gt and use it on my auto talon
do they make some sort of mount kit for that?
will i be able to use the rear end of the gt
for the talon to be awd or will i have to get a talon rear end?
would i be able to make the gt trany and talon rear end compatable?
my buddy and i are planning on doing this our selves and would like
a little advice/help from everyone.

hi, that's a very nice idea, however it would cost you the price of 2 Eagle talon TSI AWD, maybe more, and it still won't be that stable.

I have never heard of any kits for what you want to do. you'll probably need to have all the mounts and everything else custom fabricated.
Also unless you build up that engine all you will have is a car that cost 4x as much as a TSI AWD, and a TSI AWD with 5 grand in it will hand you your ass on a silver platter.
In my opinion if you really want a fast car sell your ESI and all your VR4 parts and build a super fast TSI AWD.
I don't mean to rain on your parade but it looks like a lot more work than its worth, but if you have the money and patience it will be a cool and unique project car.

dont do it, its too heavy, doesnt fit, a bitch to work on and hard to maintain. get a Galant VR4 turbo motor. it's a 6 bolt motor out of an early 90's galant VR4 (japanese) and can be found very cheap (same motor as from 1g eclipse/talon/laser). DO NOT build a 7 bolt motor (stock motor in 2g eclipse/talon).

More than likely you'll have to mod the car to the point of no return (change out the shocks, engine mounds, so on...) If you have the money and the balls to drop a v6 in that car, go for it. If not, skip the TSI, its a crapy car. sell the talon and go get an actual vr4..you'll be way better off, plus with the money you'll spend you can have the vr4 tricked out probably to the point where most cars wont even touch you.

One question, why? Honestly it's not worth the money and trouble. I dont think that the 6g272 engine will fit properly in the 2nd gen. BTW, the 6 speed comes in the 2nd gen 3s, 5 speed is 1st gen 3s

LOLOL, TSI is a crappy car?! this coming from a guy saying he can trick out a vr4....the VR4 3kgt HAS NO AFTERMARKET you genius, and the little that it does have, is insanely overpriced, not to mention 3kgt = 3800lb, which is WAY to much......
not to mention fastest TSI = 8s,
fastest VR = i think barely in the 10s...if that
dont talk shit about stuff you know nothing about

Quit the flaming!
Both cars are good, if you like one over the other, good for you.
