Seem to have a knocking in the front drivers side. Took it in the other day and they replaced the sway bar assembly. The knocking is still there. Im afraid its something worse. Well since that didnt fix it i guess it is worse.. Anyone tell me anything the dealership really dosent want to. Knocking seams to be most noticable when going slower and when i go over even gentle bump.. Its getting on my nerves big time. Its an 01 Cherokee sport. Only 30k miles.

Had knocking problem on previous 98 I bought with a lift kit. Drove me nuts and replaced lower arms and put correct swaybar links on and still made noise. Finally went over the tranny crossmember bolts and found a few not quite tight and fixed the problem. I can't believe it was something so simple. Don't know if it helps, but might.

Hi!
I don't know if you have solved the problem but I had the exact same thing happen to my Cherokee. First I thought it was the ball joints but after checking I found out it wasn't. Turned out to be a loose bushing in the lower driver side control arm. The control arm would therefore not hold the front axle solidly.....there was free play. To solve the problem without buying a new arm/bushing I just welded a few beads between the bushing and arm to join the two and the problem was solved. Be careful not to melt or burn the rubber in the bushing while doing this. Hope this helps!!!
