Corvette VS. Le Car.

O.K. not really a "street race" but I thought it was somewhat funny...

Today, out of nowhere a snow storm blew in, and after about 20 minutes there was about three inches of snow on the ground. I decided to get going home before the engine cooled too much, so I wouldn't have to warm the engine up (which is total pain in the ass, because I broke the choke pull knob, and have to open the hood to open the choke manually)
After 15-20 minutes of stumbling around through the snow, (with visibility about 20 feet) I found the on ramp to the highway. As I'm sitting there waiting for the light to turn green so I can make the left turn onto the ramp, a black Corvette pulls up behind me. He must've thought that I'd be going to slow for him, so he then pulled up beside me (so far as I can tell there wasn't even a second turn lane because there was only one green arrow light, and one "left turn only" sign, but the snow hadn't been plowed yet, so you couldn't see the lines anyway)

So as soon as the light turns green, I see that his wheel as spinning, as are mine - at 10mph I shifted to second, but of course the car hadn't actually moved an inch forwardyet, however, this did it - and just in time too, because the guy in the corvette was still giving it gas, and was just about to pull a donut right into me (how about that, a collision at 0mph!)
So I slid out onto the on ramp, and he sat there spinning his wheels in the snow - ah, success. I won, I got to be stuck in 15mph traffic before him - that's the feeling of victory.

So not really a race, but I couldn't stand the fact that he had apparenlty invented his own lane, just so he could pass me. And if there was in fact another turn lane, I still got in front of him anyway. :icon16:

Good kill 2stroke.

And since a race is basically which car is better from point A to point B and you got to the goal (onramp) faster, you did race and won.

and that idiot should have known better that to bring a high torque big tires type of car in the snow and on top of if try to race...

Heres a brakedown of the race. You lign up at the light. Light turns green, you both gun it. Your neck and neck, you shif to second and pull him. Then shut down.

Look i just made it a kill story:D

Nice job! People like that vette driver are why I hate driving in the winter. Gotta know your vehicle. I had no problems getting my 400rwhp truck to work today in four inches of snow, 300lbs in the bed and a very light foot :)

I don't have any problems driving my SS in the winter in snow. Did it this morning. As long as you're not an idiot, and take your time (as with any car), you'll make it to your destination just fine...
