I have a 1989 Civic DX and I've gotten ahold of a D16Z6 VTEC that I'm going to swap in. I got the VTEC computer and the wiring is on the motor along with the deal.... The only question I really have is will the VTEC wiring plug into the existing wiring so long as I have a VTEC Computer??? Or will I have to switch ALL of the wiring?

Also, I have the complete D16Z6 Motor with ECU....Will I still need a VTEC Controller of some sort?

First of all you need to wire mpfi, because dx have dpfi which is a 2 injector system, and you need mpfi which is the 4 injector system. That is the first thing you need to do. If you got a vtec computer you wont need a vtec controller but its great to install one for tuning when vtec kicks in. You will have to wire it to obd1 because the ecu that you have is most likley a obd1 ecu and our 4th gens are wired with obd0. You can buy a sohc vtec ecu off the internet that will work, and it will cut your wiring time in half.
The harness you have will not work with a dx. because the plugs are different..

CHEAPEST WAY TO DO IT:(but not easiest)
Use the ecu you have and wire obd1(really time consuming) and do a mpfi swap.

EASIEST WAY BUT NOT CHEAPEST.
Buy a sohc vtec ecu, and mpfi swap.
