3000 would be better, I've been offered 4000 for motor and tranny when I was shopping around.

Yeah It'll Bolt Up The Vg30dett Tranny.... And The Shifter Will Be Sitting In The Back Seat. The Vg30dett Trannies Have An Extended Linkage Style Shifter. The Rb26 Will Bolt Up To The Rb20 Or 25 Trannies And I Was Also Told That The Vg30e/t Trannies Bolt Up Also. The Sohc Version Vg Tranny Is A Normal Style Shifter.

I had a tranny but threw it away since it was useless. Couldn't put an AWD in my 240sx. If you tried to sell it someone probably offer you peanuts for it.

Haven't measured it yet, but I've seen a few swaps with the VG30DETT tranny.

I'm throwing in a greddy head gasket and a full english book manual for the engine.

$3500 is very good price

Um You Can Install The Tranny And Disable The Awd Setup. It Has Been Done Numerous Times. So You Threw Away A Perfectly Good Tranny W/ Only 40k On It? I'd Try And Get It Back If At All Possible.

i was saying that the RB26DETT came from the R34 Skyline, not the R33 Skyline as TURBOMIATA said

The R32 -r34 All Had The Rb26dett.

It Was The Engine They Put In The Gtr Models.

R32 GT-R = RB26DETT
lower models = RB20DET
R33 GT-R = RB26DETT
lower models = RB25DET
R34 GT-R = RB26DETT
lower models = RB25DET

they all had it dude.

musicsurfman

The Lower Models Came With Multiple Motors.

The R32 Had:
Ca18i
Rb20e
Rb20de
Rb20det
Rb25de
Rb26dett
And Aussie Tuner Spec Had The Rb26de

Tried doing that already the tranny is way too long. I'd have to sit in the back seat to shift it.

Those guys from twinturbo.net says the VG30DETT tranny wont fit on the Rb26dett lol.... they have no clue what they're talking about

If you want to get REALLLY picky, I've seen something that suggests there is a version out with a factory RB26DET in it (yep, single turbo).

musicsurfman is right on the money. The Skyline had a gazillion different options, but the GT-R's all had the RB26.

I might have a buyer if the engine is still for sale. Is it the whole clip or what. Show some pics.

Plus even if the vg tranny will bolt up, those arent the correct gears you would want for an engine that has a 8000 redline. and think it would be easier to use a rb tranny since all you have to modify is the tranny member, but for the vg tranny you will need to do the tranny member and figure out how to mount the shifter since it has external linkage. Sounds like a bigger headache to me. I used the rb tranny.

Umm, Internally The Rb25det And The Vg30de/tt Trannies Are The Same, Same Gear Ratios And All, Just Different Frontcase/bellhousings.

You can find the RB26DETT engine in a r32, r33 and r34. And in 2007 even in a r35.

It's the best twin turbo engine ever

No, it won't be in the new GTR. Most of the rumors about the motor going into the next generation GTR are for some version of the VQ. From the Feb '05 issue of SCC:

"We cast our lot with the second school that has the new GT-R motivated by a twin-turbocharged version of Nissan's VQ-series DOHC, 24-valve V6 making around 450 hp. While the normally aspirated 3.5 liter VQ35DE V6 powers the regular G35 coupe, we're betting that a short-stroke version of the VQ will make it into the GT-R. Displacing about 3.0 liters, let's call this engine the VQ30DETT. In fact, that engine code is already used to denote the blown engines now powering 350Zs in Japanese Touring Car competition."

Even though there are other rumors of a possible V8 from the Q45 to enter the new GTR, it's not as likely as the TT V6.

Anyways, this thread is over a year old so I don't know why it was brought back in the first place.

now that you brought that up jspec, the v8 is more likely than you think. the new supra is gonna come with either a 3.something v6 or 4.something v8 so the competition is there.. its up to nissan if they want to compete with toyota.. not that i agree with a v8 in an r35 but that might be the reality.. anyways, this isn't the skyline forum so fuck this thread

Check this out. Found it interesting that they are considering a hybrid setup for the new supra.

Is there a new tc coming out? I don't mind the tc that's out now. Well, it's definitley way better than the xa or xb.
