My 2002 Lse Is Showing "change Cabin Air Filter" In The Message Center Display. Where Is It? How Do I Change It? And Do I Have To Reset The Computer Once It Has Been Changed?

Details on this are in your owner's manual.

The filter is about $30 from the dealer. It is under the pass. side cowl. Remove "button" fasteners by depressing their center sections and lifting out. Remove the cowl to expose the filter. Unclip the retaining tabs on the filter and slide out. To reinstall the button fasteners you'll need to slide the center pins the opposite direction until they protrude above the "button". Insert into cowl and then depress pin until flush with button.

Yes, you will need to reset the message. Press "status" until the filter life shows. Press "reset" twice. (I think. Look in the OM to be sure)

THANKS, I WILL LOOK THERE. THE OWNERS MANUAL FOR THE 02 HAS NOTHING ABOUT IT, NOT EVEN A PART NUMBER. IT JUST SAYS THAT THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A CABIN AIR FILTER.

Anyone know where you could get these filters cheaper? I noticed they are $29 at the dealership, there has to be somewhere online where they are reasonably priced!!

I know this is late, but just joined. I replaced mine from advance auto parts, had to order online though. Cost me $20.

Hey guys, this is sort of a late response to your Post but, I just finished replacing the Air Cabin Filter on my 2000 LS V8. I got it form Advanced Autoparts for $18.

I have a question though. Now That I replaced it, Where do you go to reset the Life of it. My Message center says AC filter. Is that that same as the Cabin filter or a diferent one? It does not mention anything about Cabin Filter.

I also replaced the Yellow connector under the Driver seat. one cable was cut and I was told by many that the series of beeps I was getting was due to it. Went to dealer and paid $25 for it.

I took the seat out and inspected every single conenctor under it. Spliced the cable and connected it. My problem Still remains unresolved.

There are 5 sets of 5 beeps each with about 4 seconds between set.

Someone has the answer to this???

Can't help with the SRS system....

The AC Filter is the same as the cabin filter. To reset life you have to key through the "status" menu until ac filter comes up. When it does, press and release reset, then press and hold reset. That will reset it to 100%. If you have a V6, I can't help. I believe they have to go to the dealer for a reset...

Thanks gorman. I have a V8 and i just din't know it the AC was diferent from the Cabin filter.

How many Cabin filter are there on the LS V8...?
What about the Air Filter, When should it be changed?

I just got this car and I don't know what has and has not been done/changed to it. I bought it with 65k miles and I just puk 5k. I checked the Oil and it looks clear. I don't want to rely on the message center too much, however, It tells me hat the life of he Oil is 80%. Higher the number means good or bad?

The LS has one (1) cabin filter in the pass. side cowl at the base of the windshield. Air filter should be changed every 5000 miles, I think. I've been running a K&N for so long, I can't remember. K&N is reusable and calls for a cleaning at 50K miles... The oil and filter life meters start at 100% and count down to 0%. They are time AND mileage based. The schedules should be listed in your owners manual and/or maintenance guide.

Well, My car didn't come with Manual nor maintenance guide. I had have the dealer (No Lincoln dealer) order it for me.
They did not tell me what has ans has not been changed on it.

I gues I should go ahead and give it a tune-up huh???

You can if it makes you feel better... Personally, I would just wait until the next scheduled maintenance point (every 5000 miles, I think). I run Mobil 1 oil and drive lots of highway miles (around 70-100 miles per day). I only change my oil every 8,000-10,000 miles. I wash/reuse my cabin filter and use a K&N air filter for the same reason: extended maintenance intervals. I'm pushing 90,000 miles with no problems.
