Whats brighter

I was looking at the www.streetglow.com, and I saw that they sold two nice undercar kits. One was a Gold Series undercar kit which has a MSRP of $299.95, and they also have an LED UnderCar Kit which has an MSRP of $349.99. Is the difference in price just because the LED kit has more features, or because it has more features and is brighter than the gold series neon undercar kit? thanks for your help. :bananasmi

leds project more of a wide beam, while neons have a glow to them. leds use less power than neon tubes, and are usually brighter, but more focused to a general area. also, leds have various lighting options, because they are many individual light sources in them, instead of one single tube if that makes any sense at all.

It all makes sense except for one part lol At the beginning you say that LEDs project more of a wide beam, but then I lost you when you said,

Were you talking about neon or LED lights? Thanks for helping me though

tibby covered mostly everything (good job, tibby!). neons also burn out a lot faster and a lot easier to break from road debris. spend that extra $50 and get a lot better product :)

led's have a more direct lighting. the beam is straight-forward instead of going in all directions. if one led burns out, you can always replace the bulb ;)

leds project a wide beam, but it is more focused than a neon light(which shines everywhere). for example:

the led is about 10 inches away from the floor, and the camera is about a foot above the led. led tubes have a whole bunch of those in a row, so it produces a kind of widened line on the ground.

But one more question. Between the LEDs and the neon, which one looks more like you are floating on a bed of light as opposed to just a few spots that glow?

neons should do a better job of making your car look like its floating.

oh man, first after what you guys said I thought that the LEDs were better, but then neon makes it look like your car is floating on a sea of light, so I guess Im going to need to think about it for while lol Thanks for all your help tho :bigthumb:
