K&N FIPK vs. ExtremePSI Intake Kit

Is the K&N really that much better than any other filter? Because for $110-130 its pretty pricey. ExtremePSI sells a whole intake kit w/ filter and pipe for $140. It just seems to me like that makes more sense, no? Or is it that the stock intake pipe just isnt that restrictive? Thanks for any info.

it is a very good filter. and if you hack your dump tube you will have a good intake kit. go to http://www.posracing.net and you will find out how to make an intake from home depot that is extremely nice for the $, but it is ugly. and go to dsmtrader.com (http://www.gopartstrader.com/cgi-bin/suite/classifieds/classifieds.cgi) and you may find some good deals on FPIK's

Can anyone plz give some more info. It would be really helpfull.... anyone? I just am wondering if the FIPK is really any different than a normal aftermarket filter, cause you can get a whole intake for the same price as just the FIPK filter.

I would say the quality of K&N is good but there are a few that have the same style filter with good quality and cheaper. Injen is what i went with. 100 bucks for the adapter plate and filter. The adapter plate was rough and alittle dissaponting for the money but after i sand blasted primed and painted it was all good. Upgrade the pipe on top of that and your good, unless you plan to get rid of you stock MAF anytime soon. Check out Dejontool.com for intake pipes. Injen can be picked up at any import shop just about.

You are asking peoples opinion on this, unless there are flow studies done there is no correct answer. K&N has a very reputable name in the filter industry. The way the filter is shaped and the way the filter breaths are of great design. The permeability of the filter is awesome. Again, my opinion. The filter also comes with a million mile warranty, do others? Things may always look the same, but are they? Just b/c they look the same do they perform the same? Just ask yourself these questions. I read a lot of reviews that people buy other filters and end up switching to k&n's. Hope this helps.
