what is so special about nissan skyline??? wat does it do that a lot of ppl here in US are willing to get it no matter the cost??? i know i am should not ask abt skyline in eclipse forum but other places dont reply me properly :(... so tell me wats so special abt this car?

It is AWD, can make insain powere on stock internals. Handles great, looks great.

And just the fact that Americans cant get this thing makes them want it more.

Its like an AWD Supra on staroids.

i must admit, even the one on F&F2 looks cool...

oh really... that will be nice... but i am hearing stories of people spending 60,000 to buy it and another 30000 to legalize and should be another 20000 to modify it.. WTF??? u can buy a used ferrari :D was this car shown in any recent movies?? caz i want to see this car in action.. and i guess i would never see one if i live in kansas :(

skyline is like the gods of all cars.. 280hp stock, but really its more its restricted, it can handle serious boost, great tt system, str8 6, cast iron block, takes well to mods, awd of course, it can easily get into 11's range with little mods..

People jizz all over skylines, and only some of them know why they do. But along with supra, even the newbies aren't wrong when they idolize these cars...

There's a reason hollywood likes supras and skylines.. because their 'car people' tell them that they are the best imports ever made. I won't argue with that.

Then with the movies, all of america thinks the cars are hot shit, and they all want one. As for ferraris, I would never modify a ferrari. Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, TVR, Aston martin.. etc because for those cars, you pay for the purist driving experience. Not everything about a skyline is better than those cars, and that's why Ferrari can charge 300 grand and have customers. I'd rather have a 911 turbo than a DSM that is twice as fast. There are more important things to me than speed.

EDIT>> Oh, and If i had to have another car to compliment a fast DSM it would be it's opposite in my mind. Either SL55 AMG, or Brabus SLK. Another good purist vehicle is the newest Koenigsegg, now there's a really good car.

first off there are different models of the skyline. only the GT R-34 has AWD. GT R-33 is TT RWD and the GT R-32 is N/A RWD. i could be wrong on the R-32. the only skyline i would want is the R-34. but i wouldn't pay the average $90,000 for a street legal version. i already have a turbo AWD car so there isn't much advantage in owning a skyline to me. yes they are an amazing car, but not $90,000 amazing. but this is the reason i wouldnt want a high end car. to much cash for the amount of performance you get. yes i know you are also buying the prestige of owning a high-end car. but for the money it just isnt worth it to me. i would rather have my dsm. i can go as fast and make it as nice as i want it to be. and never come close to spending $90,000. :2cents:

Referring to both of each company's top models, respectively. The one in 2F2F looks great, the blue and silver suprisingly looks good. Yes, I'd rather have a Skyline than a Ferrari.

It's true that you can spend enough money to make a Civic or DSM as fast as a Skyline, but bottom line is... it's not a skyline. And people want that.

sorry, but the ferarri blows out the skyline anyday in my book, and that's any ferarri... and for that matter for the cash, i'd be rolling in a sic M3, and for a little bit more i'd be rolling an S 55 AMG and still be faster than alot of cars out there. i have a good friend that rolls in a new one and the power is unbelievable. you are like there is no way this car is that big and that fast...

That's a decent point, but it applies to turbo civics too. Some people would rather have a value dragger, when some (me) would rather have a slower car that's nicer in different areas. Most of the reason for me is the exterior look and also knowing what car you're in. I wouldn't be that excited every day about driving my DSM after a few months, im hoping I will if i have a 456 GT.

looks is a very big bonus on me when it comes to cars i dont want to drive an ugly ass mother loving car but hittin the 9- 10's,i want some looks on my car thats were DSM comes : )

the skyline is a great car, but no way its worth 90,000 bucks...its not even worth 50,000. u can just go out and buy a used supra for around 25,000 and mod the hell out of it. they are amazing cars, but they are WAY too exspensive to even be a logical street // strip car.

IMO people like the skyline because its rare.. Its not worth it to me to buy a 90,000 car but different strokes for different folks. I seen some skyline's on ebay already tagged in the states for about 35-50k, though.

all these 'not worth 90k' well if you wanted a fast import, you need money.. and if you have money, you can afford 90k. 90k isn't shit to rich people... and if you want 1200hp street legal, skyline can do it.

AWD Skylines are all the GTR and GTS-4, all the rest are RWD
