[SIZE=3]Yo People.
Does anyone out there know where I can get a Cat. replacement pipe for my SR20DE? Ideally i would like a performance cat (Unorthodox?), but i don't want to pay too much 'cos i'm tight. Alternatively, i would take a removal pipe and fanny around each year at testing time. HELP!!

I believe Middlehurst Nissan are developing a high flow cat
for the Skyline & fitting should be the same, as for cost I'm
not sure yet ??

We have run a 98 GT without CAT (had pipe made up to replace it. £50 it cost) for about 18 months. After the intial response of Oh yeah this feels much better I have to say that I feel it makes little or no difference at all to the later Primera's. Although NISMO GT had one on his P10 and he would tell you himself that it responded better. It would appear not to be true of the later models. I have refitted the CAT now due to the MOT and if anything she feels a bit smarter in the lower rev range.
Whilst on the subject of exhaust etc the place that made the replacement pipe also did a stainless steel back box for my father in- law's 99 GTSE. So poor was the difference to the torque through the lower rev range that he put the old original box back on. Suprise suprise the motor was back on song.
I believe that the CAT issue was a post on this forum and was answered in depth. NISMO GT has the details as I`ve been way from the forum for a bit.

I won't bother replacing your cat with a straight pipe. It's not worth the extra 2 hp (maybe) doing this. Cat's now days are pretty good and some cars even lose power if you remove them. Plus it's not worth polluting your envromnent 1000 fold for a pitance in hp. :rolleyes:

Hehe, I already thought about that. :D The only real reason you need a straight pipe cat replacement is if you're running race gas. Then you NEED to remove the cat as that gas will clog your cat.

Thanks for the offer Tizao, but I really want to investigate new cams, with rough tech. specs so I know what and where the gains will be. Also, this may be a silly question, but what state is WA? I'm curious.:smoker2:

id suggest replacing it with a high flow cat. Random Technology makes good ones i believe. plus you wont be polluting the air.

you could get a high flow cat that is designed for the Skyline or GtiR (i think nissans share the same cat? even micras? am i talking shite?)
