1998 Grand prix GT + Supercharger = 1998 Grandprix GTP???? What other cheap performance mods(under $800) can u do on a GT?

Doing that will cost more than u think.

Find a GTP engine (L67) and trans (4t65e-hd) and swap those into your car.

http://www.zzperformance.com/ has the most GT mods and their tech section is a good read

1998 Grand Prix GT + Supercharger=Expensive and and time consuming to do.

Your first asumption is correct. The second (implied one with the $800) is not. Recently my engine/tranny got busted and to replace them (not me personally, a tecnitian) and do some mods costed me around 12.5k.
The engine/tranny where Goodwrench rebuilt but the car runs fine. It is really expensive and if you go to get used tranny and engines that is really a gamble. You do not know exactly what happened to them prior you getting them.... Just a tought

by under $800 I meant like a ECU or just the headers or something I`m looking for 20hp. What would be the first upgrade? pulleys, headers, ECU???

how about this guy: http://www.zzperformance.com/zzp/products/engine/dhp_pcm_10.htm

Well, to tell you the truth. I have not checked your link. But today vehicles are really PCM(ECU) constrained. If you get the correcet ECU(PCM) with stock compononets you can get a decent ~15 to ~20 hp increase.
The Ecu is around ~$400.00. Then you can install a pulley 3.4"(as you have seen on other threads). Then you can install a CAI to assist better pulley throughput. And all these add up around ~$800.00

That is correcet, that PCM would do it. But If I were you I would purchase the insurance(a.k.a in case that anything happens to your PCM(ECU) they will repgroram it with no charge and I would keep the old one just in case). That is why it would cost around ~$400.00

Thanx for info. I will definetly get the ECU and the pulley and maybe a cold air intake next.

Or maybe a cut-out instead of CAI what do u think?

I would get a CAI or some kind of intake first.

97-98 GP's had the most restrictive airbox. They redesigned the airbox in 99 and that flow'd pretty good.

Remember if you get a CAI you will have to relocate your coolant return bottle to the passanger side strut tower. You need to purchase a '99 coolant bottle and fduct for this upgrade

Ripn12s, did you saw my Thrasher installed?

Behhav78, I have read of people doing the cutouts and the problem with that is that the air filter is the same. If you do the cut out and use a K&N panel then some increase in CMF will be achieved but the CAI is better because the cone inherently because of it conish shape has a better flow than the panel filter

"the problem with that is that the air filter is the same." Are you talking about an intake cut-out? caus what I meant was an adjustable exhaust cut-out.

I used to have the qtec.

Nice little toy. Stopped working bout a yr after I had it. So now I just have the manual part.

I gained .1 - .2 after adding the cutout.

I would run 14.00s all day long w/ around the same 60ft times, added the cutout and could run 13.8's and 13.9's. The only way I ran 14's after adding the cutout was if I messed up the 60ft.

There is also the MPP McCord Power Plate or something like that. Suppoosed to be a better quality and is cheaper.
