H&R Cup Kit

Hy everybody

well I'm new to this forum as you can see. I want to lower my 94 civic and I've been looking thru this site to find some good info. At first I was thinking of buying some 120$ coilovers but after my research I found out that many people dont recomend doing that. Almost all people recomend spending some more $$ to get some nice springs and shocks. I dont want to spend too much since its going to be a everyday car. Well to make a long story short, I'm thinking of buying the H&R Cup kit because its in my price range. I was just wondering if somebody has this kit on their car and if it is worth buying, or should I go with a different set up thats in that price range?

Thanks for any help

I can't speak from experience, but from what I've heard the H&R Cup Kit is a very nice kit for all around DD type driving. It's a matched spring to shock combo kit, so you can't go wrong with that type of setup. As far as ride comfort and feel of it, I couldn't tell you, sorry. But I'd say that would be a good kit to go with.

I looked thru some german forums and they recomend H&R too, so I think I will go with that kit. Do you think I will need a camber kit too? Or can I put those in after I put in the shocks and springs, without taking the whole thing apart again if they are necessary?

Thanks for the help

i agree and would recomment H&R. i don't know anything about their cup kit, but i have the Sport springs and i love them. i think they're the best. and yes, i would strongly recomment getting a camber kit.

Go with the Cup Kit, I have installed a couple kits on Civics and the owners are happy with the set-up. It's a great set-up for daily driving.

Since civic's don't have adjustable camber, camber kits are recommended with ANY lowering. IMO they are only needed when lowering more than 1.75"-2" or more. Depending on which camber kit you choose will determine if the struts need to removed or not. Almost all kits requires the front's to be pulled.

Don't forget an alignment, camber kit or not.

ok, I just got a couple more questions. Does anybody know if I would be able to put this kit on a newer civic? What I mean is if I will be able to switch the 94 kit to a newer civic if I buy one in the future. Or will the kit only work for that generation civic? And what kind of camber kit should I get because I see so many different types of camber kits and I have no clue what I need.

thanks again for any answers

I'm planning to get this H&R Cup kit as well. Quick questions though, do I still need re-install the dust cover and the bump stop for this kit or does it come with it's own and the only thing I will need to put is the strut mount. Secondly, if I need to reinstall the bump stop and dusct cover, can I buy the KYB dust cover/boot/bump stop for this application?

Thanks in advance

No the Cup kits do not come with bump stops or dust boots. I would imagine you could use the KYB parts, find out for sure by calling the helpful people over @ Tire Rack.
