I have a 96 Eclipse RS 2.0 DOHC 16V non turbo. Im looking for any help at all on doing a engine and tranny swap for a 2.0 Turbo 5pd.
Is this process do-able without lots of money involved? Thanks again.

do not do it, it is not worth ur time or money just buy a gs-t or gsx because it is to much work the hole engine compartment is totally different the motor is in there total back word and just to much work for what it is worth and if i were you just geta turbo kit for ur RS and you will be way more satisfied that the good onld 4g63 turbo motor and will be way easier. hope this helps im know every one else on these forms will agree 100% with me and if they dont i have no clue what is wrong with them.

I am not going to say if it is worth it or not, but you can decide :iceslolan .
Here are all of the costs of the swap (compliments of 2gnt )
1. 4G63 turbo engine (stock) $1500
2. transmission (stock GS-T FWD) $500
3. wiring harness for engine $300
4. 4G63 ECU (stock) $300
5. shift linkage $200
6. custom engine mounts $200
7. chassis cross member $100
8. complete exhaust $200
9. intercooler, turbo, related parts $500
10. boost gauge/fuel filter, etc $300
11. Installation $1500
This totals $5600, and doesn't include unforeseen obstacles in the installation. For about $2000, you should be able to get over 100 hp out of the stock 420A motor with porting, valvetrain and electronics modifications.

Keep the 420A. Stock internals can handle up to I think like 275 HP. Read this article from HRC. You may want to just try this.

Erm, this thread is very old and I'm sure this person is long gone. Please don't bring up old posts!
