Since your car has a H-pipe stock adding an aftermarket 1 with or w/o cats won't add much to sound. I know some people will disagree but I have played mix and match at work to try to get a sound difference and cats vs no-cats the sound don't change much if at all. The sound is really all determined by the mufflers.

You're right GTStang. Yumi, if you want a louder sound you are going to have to change your mufflers.

I had an "89" LX with BBK unequal lenght shortie headers, off-road H-pipi, and 2 1/2" 2-chamber flowmasters. I loved the sound and so will you. You might as well get new headers if you're getting a new H-pipe 'cause you'll probably break off one of the header bolts. Definetly go with new mufflers, I recommend Flowmaster or MAC.
