im planning my next project at the moment and would like a bit of help. im ordering a toyota ls400 (vip version) and want to make it lowrider/vip style. sounds easy. but i want to put one of those working hydro systems on it. i could buy the hoppin hydro kit, but id like to know how it exactly works first, to see if i could make something similar. any reference pics, or advice is appreciated.

Well, im into building lowriders, but have never tried to make one actually hop, most guys on these forums arent to big on lowriders, but one guy that might no what you want to no is Purpura Dejoura (sorry if i spelt it wrong man)( i no its sumthin like that) he builds alot of lowriders, and i no he frequents LIL, which is somewhere else you might want to post your question www.layitlow.com, and click on bikes and models. you will more than likely find your answer there.

Yea, go try on www.layitlow.com, I'm a member there too. How the hydros work, is that you connect a string from the axle to a motor, and when u press a switch/button the motor pulls the string tight, and makes the axle go up.

cool, thanks, ive started building a kind of prototype to see if i can get it working. i just need to hook up the string. next im going to try and do it with most of the stock suspension. also, i dont really want it to jump, just lift up

Sup, with the Lexus you might want to simulate airbags if you want ot do it a cross between a lowrider and a VIP. To simulate an air bag system you wouldn't need a fast setup, so that will make it alot easier for you, but I don't recommend buying one of the Hopp Hydros chassis', I have one and it is too slow, the motors aren't strong enough to lift their own weight, very shit for the money you pay.
If you like I can put you in contact with a guy who made a heap of working hydro systems for his models, he doesnt build them anymore though because he is too busy with his DJ gigs, and he is from the Netherlands, he is a member of Unity, just like me. Let me know. For now I can just say good luck and to check Lay it Lows model forum, if you want a thread started there for help on systems then just let me know and I will post one for you.

Peace.

this project is on hold now, as the shop didnt actually have any stock, even though i could order it. im now getting a tamiya r32 gtr, is this model good? im also thinking of putting the hydro/airbag setup in a suzuki jimny.

hahaha a jimny. You mean model or a real one? alot of dancers are made from Suzukis, they get trashed, i suppose that is all a Suzuki is good for, smashing it around until it breaks. Doesnt take long either.

im definately gonna get a model, and i might get a real one, if i get enough money. but first im probably gonna get the model gtr. or should i do a lowrider jimny before a gtr?
