Tonight I tried turning the key in my ignition and it would not budge. The key worked fine to unlock the doors however when I went to start the car it would not budge once it was in the ignition. I did have my steering wheel turned and it was locked up. I eventually got the key to turn and thought that it might have been stuck due to the wheels being in a turned position. I went into another store, made sure the wheels were in a straight position but it happened again. With a little patients it worked but I need so answeres. Thanks.

Did you try your other ignition key? if it still wont turn it is possible you will need to replace the cylinder lock... Also when you park with your wheels turned, sometimes this causes a pressure on the steering lock and when you tried to turn key you put a lot of pressure on lock cylinder, anytime a key will not turn and wheels are turned left or right, slightly turn steering wheel, in the wheels turned direction to release the pressure at steering colum before turning key.

I have a feeling it's the cylinder lock, both keys are having the same problem. Does anyone have an idea about the cost of replacing the cylinder lock? Just want to make sure I have the funds.

I have the same problem with a 2001 Grand Caravan cylinder lock. Two keys we have won't work. Is it difficult to change out one of the cylinders, have a fair degree of mechanical ability.
I would like to know what's involved before I pick up another cylinder and attempt the repairs myself.
Any help would be appreciated.

Take some wd-40 and spray it into the ignition lock soak it. Put your key in and out but let it set for 30 min. There is no amount of spray so go to town.
