This may be a repost, but the idea came suddenly, so I honestly didn't bother looking...
At any rate:
How many of us wear some sort of corrective lenses? Glasses, contacts?
How many of us are supposed to wear them only for driving??
As for me, I wear either contacts or glasses most of the time, but oddly enough, I don't HAVE to wear them for driving! :D

Contacts, all the time, but I'm considering Lasik surgery. The people I know that have had it done, say it's the best thing they've ever done.

Glasses, all the time. But I look better with them than without them (at least that what people tell me!) I'm near sighted. 20/13 with, 20/crap without.

I technically should have reading glasses but I look like a doof with glasses so I don't wear them.

I have to wear glasses or contacts to see a hand in front of my face. So most of the time I have my contacts in.

contacts, since i was 14...so..3 years now. I wanna get the laser surgery, too bad the military STILL won't let me fly attack aircraft, even if i do get perfect vision through lasik. bitches. I could be one of their best attack whirlybir pilots but nooooooooooooooooooooooo, your vision isn't absolutley spotless, like 85% of the rest of the world. Even though i'd easily qualify in the rest of the fields. Heck, they used to not let guys into the Army because of flat feet, until they found out that us flat-footers have less lower body injuries than normal fotted people, and waaaay less than people with high arches. Hopefully the Army and AF will smarten up soon, cause im sure they're passing up a LOT of good pilots this way...
anyway, yeah, contacts for me. -1.50 power.

I HAVE to wear glasses/contacts to see more than 5 inches in front of my face....I'm like 20/1000 without, and my prescription is like -10 and -9.5, so I don't think it'd be a good idea for me to try driving without them since I probably couldn't even find my car without em. I wear contacts 99% of the time :-)

I wear Contacts for going out, working etc, and Glasses at home and with friends I know well enough.
Im not really that blind, I dont but should have an endorsment on my license, and when I was doing my Pilots license I was told by the doc who did my medical that if I ever lost my glasses while flying I could just cover my right eye and still fly legaly. :D

I am bored, so I'm posting in here... again! :)
My prescription itself is not very strong, but it makes a world of difference. The majority of my prescription is to "correct" my Astigmatism in both eyes. My right eye, however, is slightly myopic (nearsighted) so I benefit twice in that eye...
Without my glasses, it isn't so much that I can't see things at all, but the edges are blurred, and I often get headaches from squinting when I forget to wear either my glasses or contacts.
Oh, I have a slightly off-topic question:
If myopia is nearsightedness.... what is the "medical" term for farsightedness??? No one seems to know....

Shouldn't actualy joke about that sort of thing. The day I did my first Solo I went up with the head instructor first and nearly had a mid flight colusion with some dumb prick who was trying to land from the wrong direction and with out looking where he was going. It was only an alert tower than warned us in time.

My whole family wear glasses, and so do most of my friends.
You goto a party, get drunk, sleep on the floor or couch or what ever then in the morning have fun working out who's contacts are who's and who has the best solution. :)

I am suppose to wear glasses for reading only, due to an accident years ago with hydrolic fluid getting into my left eye. The funny thing is I just can't seem to find them lol.
