Cruise Control Not Disengaging

Does the Cruise Control always disengage when you hit the
brakes? Has anyone ever experienced otherwise on a Dodge
1/2 ton Pickup between the years 1994 thru 2001?

I know surging with the cruise control on is caused by a bad TPS (throttle position sensor) but is there ever a time when it will
not disengage when you hit the brake or shift down.

Tell me what you have experienced with cruise control on
