86s-10 4x4 2.8 motor problems

need tips on how to get the idle right on my 2.8 tbi got the vacume lines in the right places and it idles ok but looses massive power in fifth gear! please help!! :banghead: :uhoh:

I have the same problem with my 87 S10 blazer tops out at 67 mph in 5th if you find the problem would you be willing to tell me

i'm thinkin of getting a 4.3 and dropping in but will the computer match and will the tranny match if not will the computer work for putting a carb on it and diferent distributer with vacume!!!!

the 4.3 uses a larger bolt pattern than the 2.8 so the tranny will need to change as well as the ecm and you might as well change the harness due to the different locations of the same sensors

I have a 4.3 with engine wiring harness and auto tranny that i am selling for 1300 if you can pick up or pay for shipping (Oklahoma City, OK). It is out of a 99 chevy and has under 60,000 miles on it. It is in excellent shape. You would however need a computer which can be found at salvage pretty cheap.
