My 1988 C1500 Issues

First off I bought this truck with almost 140,000 miles and many parts had been replaced. The previous owner had taken very good care of this truck shown by the records he left. But I have come across a few problems now that there are 10,000 more miles on the truck.

1st - recently the check Brake light has come on the dash and has stayed on, has no blinks The brakes however work great and parking brake is off and was functional when i bought

2nd - The Power Steering is no longer working yet the pump does not seem to squeak or squeal at any point in time Truck is a mother to turn with the inoperable power steering

So anyone out there who give me some good info Please HELP!!!

check your brake fluid level in the master cylinder....
also try replacing your power steering pump, they are only about 30 bucks for a reman, you will have to use a power steering pulley puller, which can be borrowed at auto zone, and you will need some regular hand tools to put the reservoir off your old pump onto your new pump....hope this helps

parking brake switch could be stuck of malfunctioning.
