Hey folks new to the board and just wanted to introduce myself. I love cars and trucks and currently have three :naughty: . I live in SoCal and have a family Suburban, the fuel efficient Civic, and the bottomless money pit project 89 4runner :evillol: .
A couple years back I used to have a 1990 4runner and sold it. I always wanted a first gen due to the removable top. Back in August of last year I found a blue 89 fixer upper. While looking up information on various websites and message boards, I've been able to do a couple of mods and it has become a very reliable drive :smokin: .
So far I've changed the clutch, fluids, full tune-up, changed all the seals, timing belt, pro-comp shocks, Downey headers with Jardine exhaust, 1 inch body lift, Ford Taurus electric fan conversion, new interior carpet and bunch of other stuff. The project will be ongoing with paint and tires to come soon. Eventually I will have to rebuild the engine (V6) because it has the notorious knock that is common with these engines under load :mad: .
