quick spooling turbo setups

what are the factors that influence how quickly a turbo spools up?

oh and another thing - i live in MA and my car is on the road all year, and i have slots in my hood - is this bad that crap gets in my engine bay? i guess i'm worried i'll get salt crud in a turbo

okay this is the last thing i'll post before someone else responds - is a turbo kit interchangeable between and f22 (stock 95 accord ex engine) and an h22? i may have asked this before, because i feel like i've been told it doesn't, but this page is all accord kits, and some of the kits list h22 as an acceptable platform for the same kit, and under preludes on that site they list f22's as ok. any help/input is greatly appreciated- i'm still new to this stuff (6 mo.) and really, really bored with how slow my car is.thanx

turbo spool factors:
1. Turbo size-A huge turbo will lag to no end-a small one will be nice and quick
2. Turbo make-Ball bearing ceramics are faster than stock turbos
3. Engine output-Smaller engine=less exuast
Crap in engine bay:
Dont worry bout it as long as you put a cone filter or something over the intake side of the turbo
Interchangeable kits
I dunno bout that one-isnt the f series SOHC? if so then i doubt it will fit up to the DOHC H series

i figured smaller ones would spool quicker, but can't decide which ones are smaller than others (by name). it is sohc, does that matter? if it won't work will it only be because the exhaust manifold would be a different size (and/or the intake)?

ar and trim..
ar is on the turbine side the bigger the ar is the slower it spools but more top end, small a\r spools quick but doesnt have top end, the trim is on both the compresson wheel and the turbine wheel, the tirm has to do with how big the wheel is, bigger more air flow but bay take longer to spin, ball bearings will help aid in turbo spool up but it takes alot to maintain..

the more displace the mortor has the more faster the turbo will spool,the more exhaut gasses the motor pushes out so the quciker the turbo will spool with more displacement..
