I called a machine shop in town and they told me to build a fairly well built 350 it was going to cost somewhere around $1400 this is in comparison to about $2800 for a crappily built 383 Stroker (They said a well built Stroker would be upwards of $3400). I was just wondering if this is good or am I getting ripped off. I don't think I know enough about the engine to drop the it myself (wouldn't want to screw up a new engine) so I will probably have them do that as well. Also I would like to get it up to the 383 so how much will it be to bore and stroke the 350 later, if anyone knows.

How much is shipping for something that big going to be? The cheapest stroker I found was $1667. And why is the stroker only $500 more than the 350?

it cost them about the same to make a stroker as it does a 350 its the same engine with different internals
