This morning on the Interstate, I looked over to my left and there was a
woman in a brand new Cadillac doing 65 mph with her face up next to her
rear view mirror putting on her eyeliner. I looked away for a couple
seconds and when I looked back she was halfway over in my lane, still
working on that makeup.
As a man, I don't scare easily. But she scared me so much; I dropped my
electric shaver, which knocked the donut out of my other hand. In all the
confusion of trying to straighten out the car using my knees against the
steering wheel, it knocked my cell phone away from my ear which fell into
the coffee between my legs, splashed, and burned my lap, ruined the damn
phone, soaked my trousers, and disconnected an important call.
Damn women drivers ! !

Yawn. Bad drivers are bad drivers no matter who they are. (that's a polite way to avoid stating that women, and men who drive like women, drive badly :icon16: )

If women are such bad drivers then why does it cost them less to get insurance? :D

Yeah but the differences between men and women doing stupid stuff is pretty funny.

A girl in high school took the wrong on-ramp and went the wrong way on I-95, the interstate highway that runs from new hampshire to florida.

The funny part was at school when all the other girls were trying to console her saying stuff like...
"It's ok, I can see how that would be confusing."
"Yeah those on-ramps are so confusing."
"I'm sure people do that all the time."

I have a response and a question:

The only great variance between male and female insurance is among teens to early 20s. Now it is that somewhere around 85% of males that age work and pay their own car insurance while only 45-50% of females pay their own. Most of the time the females parents are the ones who pay. Now tell me, if you're the insurance agency, do you want to piss off parents who hold another claim, or just some teenager who doesn't really have to pay for much else?

If you women are so much more advanced in the evolutionary chain, why is it you're attracted to shiny objects?

wow you're pretty openly sexist aren't you :icon16:

I think it's more of the driver, I know many bad male drivers and female drivers. In my family though, my sister has gotten into 4 accidents, run repeated red lights/signs, and doesn't know wtf she's doing b/c she's spaced out. My mom has gotten into 2 accidents, one her fault. My dad and me have none, and my bro has had one accident. Out of my friends it's mainly the dudes who got accidents, one of my friends floored it on a yellow to make a right turn, oversteered and went right over a curb. Another friend stopped at a stop sign, looked both ways, went and a car hit him, his excuse was he didn't see anything :eek7: . Another guy friend U-turned in a busy street and got hit from the person behind him, messed up his left fender. Yea, i'm surrounded by people who can't drive worth shit :uhoh:

But it all just comes down to the driver and his/her confidence. There is no set "man/female is better than a man/female at driving."

The insurance thing is when they're younger. It's more likely that there are less females driving in the highschool to early 20's age than there are male drivers, so they charge more.

As for whom I think are better drivers, I can only go with my own experiences. I've come extremely close to being hit several times in my time driving. I can think of 6 times off the top of my head where someone has come within less than a foot of hitting my vehicle, and once when someone did hit my LandCruiser. 5 out of the 6 'almost hits' were women, most of them in parking lots. One was a man. The one that hit me was a woman. In every case except the one with the man, it's because they weren't paying attention, which seems to be the main problem with women drivers. I was almost hit by the man because he was hauling ass on a cliff road and was in my lane when I came around a corner. Every woman I know except my mom is a horrible driver because they just don't pay attention, or enough attention anyways, (and even my mom is starting to get worrisome).
I think I know the way my vote is swinging.

*shakes head in dismay @ Andrew*

That lasy comment...oh boy. But it is true, the change of insurance rates is going up for women seriously, but overall, it's hard to tell. Some people suck and others don't. That's that.

I cant say overall which is better, but my expierences point to women paying less attention to driving than men. For the most part around me, men who get into accidents are being aggressive drivers and a get a little too aggressive, or from racing. For women the accidents or close calls come fromnot paying attention, and I have had more close calls with women drivers not paying attention than from any other drivers. However, this is truer for younger women, as somehow a young lady didnt hear my horn when i was 1 foot (ok more than a foot as i was going about 15mph faster than her but you get the idea )off her bumper slamming on my brakes and laying on my horn (which is not quiet in anyway, cause she merged wwwwaaaaayyyyyy too early on an onramp, before her lane even joined the freeway. That one sticks out in my mind cause i though i was going to hit her, there are others of course, but im gonan shut up now cause im talking with not much of a point anymore.

See....different ppl have different perspecitives of who is driving bad. (i'm not quite sober so hand in with me here) When you're in the car with an older person (40-50) they may think that b/c someone is speeding or tailgating that they are bad drivers. Now, when i'm in the car, i think bad drivers are the god damn people who cut you off slam on their god damn breaks and then continue to do 15 BELOW the god damn speedlimit. that is my definateion of bad drivers. not women, not men, just people who are fucking stupid and cut you off. I happen to think im a good driver and that just depends on who you ask i guess. If you ask one of my friends they will say yes, if you ask my dad...he'll say i'm a crazy ass driver who needs to lose her lisence...it all depends on who you ask...i hope this makes sense...

From my expiriences men and women drive about the same. By my high school there is at least 1 pile up every month and there is the same amount of retarded teenage girls and retarded teenage guys causing them. But it seems to me that the cops crack down on the men more than the women because they get more fines and tickets when the accident was their fault.

See now alot of you took my previous statement and were like "God Andrew's a sexist asshole" or "I hope he rots in hell" or something like that. Anyway let me tell you the story behind my research:

I've grown up with two women. Now my mother is probably the best average driver I know. My sister is another story. My step-father has some anger problems that he needs to deal with on the road. And I've screwed up a couple times but they were personal judgements.

The problem is that I'm deemed to be the worst driver as I've saved the life of poor confused woodland creature I just flipped my step-father's car in the process and I've got two tickets: One for speeding (I just got my license I thought I was cool) and the other for driving 5 under the speed limit ON HALLOWEEN NIGHT IN A NEIGHBORHOOD FILLED WITH CHILDREN. That ticket was thrown out in court obviously. Now my sister has gone through 6 cars in the time I've gone through 1. She's lost control of a FWD on an icy bridge right in front of and 18 wheeler as well as hit 13 stationary objects. Somehow her insurance is lower than mine.

EXPLAIN THIS TO ME.

I'll be the first to admit there are lots of female drivers better than me.. I just don't see lots of good female drivers on a day to day basis. Not to mention my friend Ashleigh is 18 years old and has failed her permit test 21 times... She drives her car to and from school/work every day.... Be afraid. Be very afraid.
