What is the difference in the GAIN and the SET GAIN function.
Also what percents do you recomend with a stock turbo.
For fuel management i have the SAFC II and a BBK 255 fuel pump/stock injectors.

Just out of curiousity why did you buy such a big pump? plannin on upgrading the turbo?

definetally, i plan on buying the big 16g from slowboy racing. Probably during the sumertime so its easier to put on, im gonna upgrade to the 550 cc injectors also. Winter is just preperation for the new turbo.

i got a t-25 :( and running GReddy type-24 intercooler and piping, so the turbo has to work a bit harder and boost starts dropping off at about 5k rpm.
ok here it is: the set % you dial in is the boost parameter [right now i have LO set at 29 for 14.5 and HI set at 34 for about 16psi] the gain is a function of that initial # that allows you to compensate for consistency of spike [lower the #] and hold [raise the #]. i adjust mine down until boost stops spiking and holds [17 LO, 15 HI]. Set Gain is a start boost setting, it adjusts when to start opening the wastegate. it delays the wastegate opening in order to build boost quicker. when i first got the Profec II i had the stock intercooler so i was told i didn't need to use that function. however now that i have this small turbo pushing air thru a big intercooler, i have it set up at a value of 20 for LO and HI. that is a quick rundown of it. i was just getting used to fine tuning it and then i got the type-24 intercooler and it was a whole new game. overall it is very simple to use and tune with, it's just nailing down your own setup's idiosyncracies that you need to deal with. i'm very pleased with it. and it can display in kPa or Psi. and it glows indiglow.

my snail is getting old, so it takes a bit more time to spool, not much, but a little bit. try those #'s out. i use 3rd gear to adjust the static boost pressure. try to start around 30 [set %] in LO. start your [gain] at 18. set [set gain] to 20 and leave it, that is enough. get to a place that is open enough with the right speed limits so that you can open it up in 3rd and hit full boost and have time to see what the gauge does. if it spikes, lower the [gain] in increments of 1, slow down and punch it again. repeat this until it stops spiking. if you go too low, you will notice some creep. the idea is to hit a specific level and hold it. that should give you roughly 1 bar [a little under 15 psi]. when you set the HI setting, as you crank up the [set %] you will decrease the [gain] to keep the level solid. i have the [peak hold] set ON so it will flash my highest boost pressure. this is good for me because i have a metric gauge that is an analouge reading with no hold [i mean the needle aparatus, the gauge itself is digital] and the unit set to psi, and is specific to the 0.1. it helps to fine tune it to be consistent, and most everything is refered to in psi, so... i have my HI boost at about 16 psi, the recomended best setup for our application [stock fuel system]. good luck and be safe!!! ;)
