i think i've given up all hope on my car...here's whats up. i got it back today, ran great for about 60 miles then all of a sudden there is this high pitched rubbing noise coming from the engine...it gets louder and more high pitched when engine speed increases. i even recorded it on video camera if you guys wanna hear it. here is the link.. (it's in a .zip file. the actual video is a .wmv)

ok my mechanic said that the bearing spun on the silent shaft or something? anyway he said he's still diagnosing the problem...but what does that mean anyway?

sounds like you also need airflow grease, just ask you mechanic...

Might just be a wheel bearing.

it sounds like the balance shaft, but it may not be the shaft itself but just a bushing. Its really hard to tell since there are numerous pullies and rotating objects on an engine. If the balance shaft either front or rear is making that noise, they aren't easy to replace. Usally the motor will shake a little more often if they are unbalanced but not if the bushings are grinding
