I have an '03 GT and would like to keep the car pretty stock, but would like to improve engine HP without high cost of turbo, super, or nitrous. I here about the header, cool air intake ect. What kind of HP gains would I get? :naughty:

Intake and exhaust are the basic things to get. There arent many headers available for the V6 anymore that arent extremely expensive. Getting rid of those precats definitely free's up some power though.
One thing that i HIGHLY recommend is a firm front motor mount. Go to www.deyemeracing.com. They are only like $50-60 bucks, and are by far the best bang for you buck mod you can get.

With a cold air intake and maybe a catback or a performance muffler you'll definate get some HP increase, not really sure how much exactly but it will be between 10 to 15 depending on what kind of parts you put in. That will run about $100 for the CAI, and depending on what you get for the exhuast, anywhere between $100 to $1000. However, with that little hp gains, you won't really feel the difference driving unless you're on a dyno or with a stop watch on a track.
Racing headers might give you a nice 15 to 20hp increase, some even claim to give about 30 but I highly doubt it and it'll probably run you about $700 to $1000.
The frim front motor mount or isolator will increase preformance but it won't increase your hp. But at $60 why not?

Yeah, the front MM, doesnt increase HP, but it sure feels like it does. The response when you step on the gas after that is simply amazing.
I know this is hard to believe, but I dropped .3 off my 1/4 time after I got that MM. I know it seems unrealistic, but its true. The launch is everything, and this the MM will definitely aid in that.
Headers on a '03 will probably give you like 10-15hp, which is ok. There is a company that makes race headers called HyTech. I believe the headers are like, $1700 or something like that. You're not really gonna get your moneys worth unless you are using an SDS with those.

Thanks for the input, but with this highly cost per HP increase, I think I'll get my speed from other sources. I ride a Kawasaki ZRX110 with 135 HP (rear wheel) that will run low 10s in the quarter and tops at 160mph.
I agree that adding all this stuff WILL slightly increase HP but not enought to FEEL the difference. Unlike my bike when I started with 96HP and gained 39 just by adding a stage III with a full exaust. ($800)
Too bad it cost so much to make these import cars go fast, especially when I just bought it for $24,000.
The Eclipse GT is a nice car - not a hotrod, but I'm sure it will run with some of the best in its class.

The eclipse is a different beast than other cars. There are not alot of options in the aftermarket because the way that Mitsu designed them.
You want speed you could get a 1st gen eclipse and build that up. The turbo models are some of the best tuner cars in the world. Along with the 2nd Gen eclipse.

135hp on a bike is just sick. My FZR has about 100+hp, and it scares me..ha ha ha.
Anyhting turbo is the way to go. Get an old MX-6 for like $1000 and boost the hell out of it. Makes for a nice sleeper.
