raised oil pressure

hi, recently i've noticed an elevated oil pressure in my 93 5speed. when i bought the car over the summer the pressure never really got above 60 lbs/sq in except when close to redlining, but since about october the pressure is on average 15-30 lbs higher (for example, idling at 15 rather than closer to the bottom, even after the car has warmed up). i was wondering if this was just due to the colder weather, because down here in new orleans we still have many days that are above 70 and the pressure is still in this elevated state, or if it could be indicative of some more serious problem.
thanks,
Cassie

It's normal for colder temps, especially if you're running a higher viscosity oil. Once the engine warms up, the oil pressure should drop back down to normal. On the sub-0 days we've had here in New England the last few weeks, my STi really does not like to shift because the diff and transmission fluids get so thick in teh cold. After being on teh road for a few miles, everything returns to normal.
