Exhaust V6 1985 Mustang

I have a 1985 V6 232 3.8l Mustang Convertable. I have headers and I was wondering what muffler would sound the best with the smaller engine of the car. I was looking at the flownaster super 40's, would they be too big for the mustang. I dont want the exhast to sound like crap. I like the way they sound and I understand they won't sound like they do on the v8's on the site. but what would be my best choice. Just looking for some input thanks.

never heard of an 85 v6.
must be custom or something.

Ummm, yeah it was an option in 85, rated 120hp at 3600 rpms. The mufflers will sound nothing like they do on a V8! It will be a little more raspy, and higher pitched then a V8.

My buddy had 40's series on his V6 Beretta, and it was decent sounding. Defiantly didn't rumble like a V8, but it wasen't an angry bumble bee either like those of the imports.

I've honestly never heard of the V6 option.

Most newer V6 stangs sounds pretty good with the 40 series, so I assumed the old ones would be similar.

Yeah it's a v6 not a custom job. Stock.....with headers.....I just didn't want it to sound as though it was in a barrel. I wanted the loud flowmaster tone. If the super 40's don't sound good on it I have a 79 bronco with a modified 351 with 4 barrel carb that I could throw them on. Thanks for the help.
