alright my friend has a 88 chevy 1500 2wd. just recentlly he was at an intersection and when he went to release the clutch he got nothing no strange sound no wierd feeling in the petal. now the petal will come back up and go down with no problem just like normal but with nop pressure. im not for sure if it is cable drivin or hydrolic. i told him what i thought it could but i just wanted to here some suggestions from some people who might know more than me about this kinda vehicle, im coming from a mostly import back ground and dont really know how diff the set up is thanks for your help in educating me in this matter and for your help

does it have a hyd. clutch, if mechanical you still need to go under to see if linkage is moving first

An '88 c1500 has a hyd clutch. Check the fluid in the resovior on the firewall(driver side, round cup) its probably low. Why its low can be only one reson, a leak. It could be slow or he could have blown the line going to the slave cylinder. The system works just like most imports. It has an external slave, so repairs are easy.
