Then Why Not Race It?

How much money have people put into their G20's?

I plan on putting good pile of cash into my 91' P10, as nothing has been done to it, yet.

Cosmeticly, I want it to replicate a Primera Super Tourer. Engine wise, I want as many ponies as I can get while keeping it normally aspirated.

BTW, anyone know where I can get a carbon fiber Super Touring rear wing?

Then a friend said, "Once its done, what ya gonna do, race it?"

Good bloody idea! If Im gonna spend the cash, might aswell do something exciting with it then just look good around town.

So hopefully this summer, Im gonna do some SOLO racing, and maybe a local club race or two in my G20. It wont have all the things I want done to it by then, especialy in the engine, but Im gonna race it anyway.:D
No drag racing, its boring.

Anyone else plan on doing any type of racing in their G20's?

Right now, I've put about $2000 us dollars into it. I have got no hp gain from this either. All I got is some 12's in the trunk. Just got lowering springs and struts, and some PIAA headlight bulbs.

I don't plan to race it b/c it is not the car I wish to hook up. I'll keep it dropped on some rims with some nice sound for now, but I am waiting on a 5spd IS300 or something.

I plan on doing Solo II events in my G20 this summer. Right now my car is bone stock but i've got a set of 17" wheels and 205/40 tires on the way. I'd like to get a set of shocks and springs but will probably hold off until summer. I'm also thinking about getting a carbon fiber hood, but haven't decided yet. Good luck in the events you enter. I'm sure you'll have a blast.

I've puy about 2k (US) into my car.
Almost all of that has been body mods/paint and wheels.

I've done a bit a track time but i'm more just into crusing around and going to shows with it.

I believe I put a little over $4,000 USD in my G (this includes taxes, shipping, installation etc..).

I'm not into the racing thing. I want my car to be visually pleasing and perform well. Right now, I just cruise around in it, meet new people who share the same passion for cars and I'm sure come Spring time I'll be going to shows and tracks to check out what's flying.

If you want to race it, don't just spend money randomly on it. You will need to get a rule book and figure out what the rules will allow and then take advantage of everything the rules allow.

That said, I don't know if the SCCA has classified the G20 in Solo II. I know it is not classified for club racing.

Of course, once you build a race car, forget driving it on the street.

I don't know how much money i spent on my G.... well, i do, i have every reciept... but to keep my sanity, i don't count them. I know i spent over a thousand on the suspension, probably over 2k on the motor (i'd guess around 2500?), and maybe another thousand on the stereo? BTW... some of this was swapped from my 94 G20, into the current car. And as for solo 2 requirements, i have no clue what, of my mods, qualifies. I do plan, and have, taken my car on a road course.

My G is bone stock and I started racing it this year, lots of fun. The classification for the G in SOLO II is ES and you will move up in class from there according to your mods. I would suggest staying in E stock until you get your engine work done, you can do some work on the handling with out moving up in class but you can only mess with the shocks (no lowering) and the tires (you have to keep the OEM rim size but not the rim) that is about it but these can help very much. You can do any changes cosmetically that you want as long as it do's not effect the performance, so basically any body kits, wings, etc. Have fun.
