Titanium valve/retainers necessary??

I was wondering what would happen if i went with an all motor/nitrous setup and bought racing cams and dual valve springs but didnt upgrade the retainers nor the valves, is it really necessary, what could happen to them. It's not like im gonna be running the motor for more than 15 seconds at a time.

mild cam(s) and stock rev limit.. stock springs and retainers are okay.

when you start to get into the high lift cams, or revving past the stock rev lmiter by more than 500 rpm or so, you will break a retainer and leave yoru engine in pieces at the end of the track. I've seen it done many times and that is no joke. If the cam recommends valve springs and retainers, then get valve springs and retainers. be warned though, that titanium retainers are considered a wear item, and dont last forever, you are supposed to get new ones in some increment but i dont know what it is.

What about valves?? do you think performance valves are worth it?? and about them Ti retainers, does it matter whether it's Skunk2 or Crower? Titanium is Titanium right? Or is there more to it?

Well i dont know any details about different makers, titanium products from different makers can be tottaly different. It all depends on how they make up the metal with other alloys. So not all titanium are the same, one tweak of the formula could have bad conquesis.
