2 Stage NITROUS

Hey has anyone tried this yet?

Put the usual wet setup but add another "stage" to it.
From the bottle spit the line into two (via Y ot T joint) and run one for the normal wet setup. Then for the other one use it as a dry setup. The dry setup would be more the like the Sneeky Pete system, so just jetted pure N2O into the intake. I would say 30-50HP dry shot.

The wet one is for WOT and the dry is manully activated when needed for last boost to kill your enemy.

Good, bad, ugly?

you better have alot of money, you would be buying a new engine every race.

No no...see the word jetted? When I ment pure N20 I ment just n2o and no fuel....a true dry system...plus its only 30-50HP

Hehe, I thought you ment a 50 Shot of n2o DRY! Not a 50hp shot... I was confused. :smokin:

Whats the difference? 50 shot means 50HP right? The jet number means the amount of HP...right?

Umm, you're going to inject just nitrous oxide into your engine and detonate it with spark plugs? No fuel? Nothing?

Ok, you guys arent getting it....

The engine is runing....and you are racing some Biznatch....
You active the Nitrous system to kick some ass...but he's got more then you so you hit the second stage for the last extra boost to win....get it?

You are running a wet system but split the lines from the bottle so there is two from the bottle now.
Then you route one of the lines to your normal wet setup.
The second one goes to a nozzle with like a 30-40hp shot. But the only difference is that you only have the Nitrous in the second stage and no more fuel added.

You will need another silenoid (cant spell) and a stwich somewhere you can manully active it with. And a dry nozzle with a low horsepwer jet.

Any opinions? (if you get it)

I can understand what you are saying....pro drag racers use 2 and 3 stage nitrous all the time! but theyre setup is a bit different. Youre idea is cool, but does have some flaws. Youre engine has to be pretty well built in order to handle dual shots. You also (even with a small shot of dry) might have lean problems when you hit it, so tuning would definately be needed.

A little lean wont kill....plus, it will only be for a short time.

And thanks for getting it....LOL

:smokin:

BTW, how do they do it?

They generally use a fogger system with multiple nitrous ports. Pro's are almost always computer controlled and at certain points in the powerband it releases different sized shots of nitrous, for example it may let loose a 200 shot at 3000rpms and then a 300 shot at 5000rpms (these are short blasts btw)..It just steps up at certain rpm points. But all computer controlled.
