Testors Complete Airbrush System

Ok, ive searched the forum and even checked the FAq and i couldnt really find any good answers.

im looking at this airbrush...

does anyone have this? im seriously thinking about getting it. its $144 in Tower Hobbies. im pretty much a beginner to airbrushes and i ONLY need a compressor for airbrushing and nothing else. also, isnt it possible for me to buy more nozzles later on? so wouldnt it become like the aztek 4079 and 47778 later on (minus the airbrush body)?

if i need a moisture trap and regulator, does it have to be Testors or can it be any company? and would it just connect in between the compressor and the airbrush?

please post your opinions on it.

I would stay away from an Aztek..... I have one and wish I still had my Badger. I would recommend the Badger 200. The Testors is to hard to clean, and the tips are not very convenient. Oh yes, a water trap is needed. I do not know if you have to use one from Testors with that compressor or not.

I have an Aztec A4709 Set and have no probelms at all

im a student and on a budget (i have no job). so i think the testors kit is good because i wont have to buy too much other stuff. i definately will getter better stuff when i get a job. so for now, this is at least better than those testor kits that need a can right? (thats my only other option besides this.

Badger vs. Aztec is just a preference thing. I have only used my Badger, not ever an Aztec, however I have handled an Aztec and remember not liking the way it felt. Just personal preference, and probably because I had my heavy, metal Badger first and was used to it. The only thing you really should look for at this point is a double action airbrush, or at the very least, an internal mix brush. It has the geratest control, much better than the simple airbrushes that are just spray guns.

You should get a moisture trap, and there are a few that you can put in the air line, so they should work on any compressor, it shouldn't matter. I don't have a pressure regulator, I don't think I am good enough to know the difference anyway. But for that, you will probably need a Testors one, since all the ones I can remember seeing attached directly to the compressor, and they may not work with your fitting size.

ya its both double action and internal mixing. both the set and regulator/trap would run me about $200. and also, i really dont want to go all out on a brush and then have my lack of skills break it. i'd rather spend $200 for this and get a professional set when i get some experience.
