hey all, im performing my civic duty of giving you all something to laugh at. took the IROC to work today to do some work, cleaned up the throttle body, and put on four new tires, and by doing so fixed my idle problem. the induction sevice i did needs a driving period afterwords to get it all out of the system, so i was drivin around the back lot at work. i stopped and put it in neutral to stomp it and rev it up and clear out the intake. only one problem, my trans 3-4 clutchpack is gone, so i only have 1st and 2nd, so the trans was not in OD like i thought, it was in 2nd. so instead of shifting into neutral, i shifted into D. and when i stomped it, i found out two things, A the engine is running much better, and B, it reallllllly sucks to park your car on top of a fence at work. especially when you get the bill. that part comes tomorrow :( what sucks worse, is finding out what damage is there i didnt see at night in the harsh cruel light of day :(

I don't think that's any worse than me. When I was a kid(about 10yrs old) my grandfather used to let me steer his car while sitting on his lap. Well, one day he asked me to go and bring his car in front of the house for him. It was a '77 Chrysler new yorker,so you could probably picture a little kid holding himself up with the steering wheel, just peeking over the dashboard enough to see the hood ornament.I had my heels dug into the floor so I could stand up while doing this, and I was nervous as hell! I backed up the car, thought I put it in "D" and proceeded to push the gas pedal. It was still in reverse! I panicked, pulled down on the lever and forgot to take my foot off the gas. I ended up putting his car into the garage before I could stop it.Trouble was, the doors were still closed :uhoh: . Needless to say, he didn't let me move his car by myself after that. :lol2:

AHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH........damn, i have no right to laugh, a couple years back, i ran over a dead deer layin in the middle of the highway, chopped it up really good and got the carcus tangled up into my transmition linkage, locked me in first, front of the car was covered with blood and guts, all over the windshield too, and the smell of it baking on my cat and muffler, it was quite a situation, especially since i just ate and puked it all up on the side of the road while the state trooper and county sheriff deputies laughed it up.

I gots a story for ya. A friend of mine smashed his 2000 model nissan patrol while backing out of a car spot. He hit a lamp post and casued $3300 damage to the post adn around $10000 damage to his car ;p And this was only a month after it had been out of the garage from being repaired from another accident which had cost him $25000 to fix :p

and the reason i didn't see that big rotting carcus in the middle of the road, well it was 3am, and dark, and I didn't take those snazzy headlight covers off before i hit the road and i couldn't hardly see shit, so if you're gonna drive at night, you might wanna take em off

89IROC&RS
01-22-2004, 08:55 PM
lol, well that and its against the law to leave them on at night i believe ;)

Ok I got 1 for you guys ever been racing and right when your in the middle of the race have a cop go by? Well I was racing a freind one time and right in the middle of the race (doing about 80 or so) a cop turned onto the street. Now what would the normal person do? hit the brakes right? well try hitting the brakes and have the seat your in (that you forgot to bolt back down!!!!) with you in go flying forward, now let me tell you thats alot of fun when your trying not to get busted, keep your car on the road, slow down, and trying to sit back up... Atleast the cop found it funny enuff not to give me all the tickets he could have.

lol. I've been pulled over countless times in my old trusty Ford Falcon (RIP). Musta been at least 15 I got pulled over in a period of 6 months. twice I got pulled over twice on the same night. YET!!!! heres the clincher.... never got any tickets. got a defect or two but nothin major, just the cops trying to find as much illegal stuff they could on my car at the time. I guess the huge playboy sticker in the rear window wasn't to their liking :p
